Inside My Mancave — Where Sound and Vision Come Together

Most of what I do happens inside a small room on the island of Crete — my home studio, my mancave, my creative corner. That’s where I write, sing, record, and mix all my HEVANDER music.

I like working alone. It gives me space to experiment and to get lost in the details. Sometimes, friends or guest musicians join remotely to play their parts, but the main core — songwriting, vocals, production — I handle myself.

Besides music, I’ve spent the last few years creating lyric videos for other Finnish metal bands like Ikirouta, Lazy Bonez, National Napalm Syndicate, Arched Fire, and Decrowned. It is another way for me to tell stories — to bring other artists’ music to life through visuals.

So naturally, all my own HEVANDER videos are made the same way — right here at home, from the first spark of an idea to the final cut.

I’m not in a hurry to release things. I’d rather take the time to make each song and video mean something. It’s all about feeling — and maybe a bit about perfectionism too… When it’s ready, it’s ready.
